They implemented automatic manufacturing process as the first company in Europe.
At this time Durobor ® continues in the same spirit of innovation with philosophy of market innovator and designer of the unique shapes.
Well-known innovative design of Durobor ® glass is adopted to be used for practical use and to fulfil high requirements of demanding users.
Durobor ® was a first company who brought really revolutionary concept: design glass vessels to be used for serving of meals.
Durobor ® is one of the main glass manufacturers all over the world.
Why Durobor?
Long lifetime period and increased wear hardness.
Durobor glass is harder and more resistant thanks to special content of the glass raw material. We enable professionals to prolong the time of using glass in their premises.
Durobor ® produces resistant glass with increased resistance for intense professional usage: glass resistant to mechanical shocks.
Production process
Composition
The glass composition is a subtle calibrated mix of sand, sodium carbonate
(representing 70% of it), limestone, crushed glass,…
Fusion
The mix is integrated in silos that are feeding the oven. Risen up to a temperature of 1500°,
it turns into a fluid and bright paste.
Sketching
The production line is fed 365 days a year. Drops of the mix are automatically sectioned and falls in a “sketching matrice”. It is pushed by a metallic awl.
The blowing
Compressed air is then blown into the « sketching matrice » to get required glass shape.
Burn
A glass surplus creates a cap. Once in the cutting machine, the cap, “attacked” at 800° goes into
a crown of flames in order to be removed. The labrum on the edge of the glass is created at the same time.
Reheating
The residuary tensions still remain into the glass and can damage the glass. The glass is therefore re-heated and slowly cooled to to achieve final quality of the glass.
Visual inspection
Each product is put to a strict visual inspection. Wasted glasses will become
part of the composition elements of other glasses.
